Deciding on what to wear when you're flying is hard enough. Do I sacrifice comfort for a more professional look? Or play it real with a more casual, comfortable outfit? Thankfully for me, the answer to this age-old, modern girl's question is much more clear when you're seven-months pregnant: casually comfy, duh!
On a recent cross-country trip flying from Atlanta to Los Angeles for my "West coast" baby shower, I opted for my uber-comfortable black Piko tunic top paired with a pair of pregnancy skinny jeans by A Pea in the Pod. A side note about these jeans: they have what they call a "secret fit belly" which is essentially a large piece of light nude spandex that is attached to the top of the pants that stretches to go over your belly, thus making them incredibly pleasant to wear when you're stuck sitting for long hours. Painful intruding waistbands, be gone!
As for accessories, I always stick to my motto, K.I.S.S. ("keep it simple, stupid") . For a flight, you want something that you can slip on and off your feet yet would be comfortable walking potentially long distances from terminal to terminal in. My JCrew Cece Leather flats were the perfect choice. As for jewelry, I stuck with my "be here now" MantraBand bracelet that is almost always on my arm these days. Just a little something to feel a bit more put together.
Sure, the above was a great outfit to travel in while pregnant, but the ease, comfortability and confidence I had might make it my go-to for any future plane travel while un-pregnant as well. Pregnancy jeans and all!
